We are excited to announce that the Reef Creative Group recently acquired a 70% stake in the development studio Bitmap Bureau. Reef Entertainment will work as an operative team providing support for future Bitmap Bureau titles. Based in Southampton, Bitmap Bureau was founded in 2016 by industry veterans Matthew Cope and Mike Tucker. Over the years, Bitmap Bureau have been on a mission to deliver high-quality titles capable of running natively on retro consoles and modern consoles alike, with popular releases such as Xeno Crisis, Battle Axe and Final Vendetta. Their talented team of designers, programmers, artists and musicians are dedicated to preserving and continuing the fine art of retro game development, with a commitment to authenticity that spans from the painstaking coding process all the way to the physical packaging. “Working as part of the Reef Creative Group gives us access to the funding, administration and publishing support we need to expand, study and concentrate on making the best retro titles out there for gamers everywhere. Our combined knowledge and expertise will allow us to make higher-quality games and retro physical collections than ever before. A special Necklace Edition is available for fans to purchase on our direct-to-consumer website and select retailers throughout Europe, bundling the game with several merch items, including a beautiful Tulip Necklace, designed by Reef Entertainment’s wonderful designer, Menglin! Sympathy Kiss is a slice-of-life otome that follows Akari, an employee of the mobile app maker Estario, as she tries to find the perfect balance between the stress of work and blooming office romance. The elegant tulip that adorns the necklace is a recurring motif in the game’s logo and marketing, a symbol of perfect and deep love. The Tulip Necklace is Reef Entertainment’s second experience creating commercial merchandise, and we couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. We are Reef Entertainment Bespoke Publishing and Development solutions for your game or studio. Reef Games: Welcome About Us Reef Entertainment is a UK-based developer and publisher of video games. We offer a full range of services from funding to final release. Get in touch & let’s discuss a lasting strategy for your project! 2005 Reef was founded as an independent games publisher by Peter Rezon. 2010 Reef was acquired by one of the leading entertainment distributors in the Europe, Creative Distribution. This allowed Reef to distribute a large amount of titles in a wide variety of territories. Since then, Reef has established long-term distribution partnerships with several developers, such as NIS America and Idea Factory International, and has been working closely with Amazon and other gaming retailers. 2014 In February, Reef's first self-funded title, Rambo: The Video Game, was released. In July, Reef entered the E-commerce business, and has since created and run multiple EU online stores for our Japanese publishing partners, offering a range of video game products and supportive after-sale customer service. 2019 Reef's multi-year investment in work-for-hire development with Teyon resulted in the release of the high-quality FPS, Terminator: Resistance. In February, Reef published Death end re:Quest for PS4 in Europe, launching our publishing services to partner with a variety of Japanese developers. We have also physically co-published many games for our partners over the years, and are constantly on the lookout for new partners and new games to work with. 2021 In January, with Reef’s growth in video marketing, we built an in-house video content creation team and started streaming on Twitch, allowing us to grow further by reaching/connecting with gamers and promoting both our own titles and those of our partners. In April, Terminator: Resistance Enhanced was released for PS5. In December, the Terminator: Resistance Annihilation Line DLC was released. 2022 Now part of the Reef Creative Group, Reef Entertainment is publishing and distributing 40+ games annually from our partners and has a further 3 self-funded games in development. 2023 Together with Spike Chunsoft Inc., Reef co-publishes the physical version of Fitness Circuit (Nintendo Switch) across Europe. Reef Entertainment publishes on Xbox Series X|S for the first time with our title Terminator: Resistance - Complete Edition, which bundles an enhanced version of the fan-favourite FPS with the Annihilation Line Narrative Expansion and Infiltrator Mode.
