Goodboy Galaxy Team Joins Reef Creative Group – Kickstarter Fulfilment & Launch Plans Here!

Reef Entertainment are delighted to announce that the innovative team behind the out-of-this-world indie platformer Goodboy Galaxy has joined us and Bitmap Bureau as part of the Reef Creative Group!
Originally developed for Game Boy Advance and backed by a successful Kickstarter campaign, Goodboy Galaxy has already captured the attention of retro fans worldwide. Now, it’s set to reach an even bigger audience when it releases on Nintendo Switch™ on 30th October 2026!
Pre-orders are now live on the Bitmap Bureau Online Shop. The Standard Edition sold on the Bitmap Online Shop includes an exclusive arcade token, a great addition to your copy and part of a growing set for long-time Bitmap Bureau fans, who may have previously collected their Terminator™ 2D: NO FATE and Xeno Crisis tokens!
Bitmap Bureau and Reef Entertainment are committed to supporting the team in delivering Goodboy Galaxy and Maxwell’s journey to both Kickstarter backers and new players worldwide.
While the Goodboy Galaxy team is now part of the Reef Creative Group and will operate within Bitmap Bureau, they remain independent, retaining full design autonomy over their projects, with Reef providing publishing, distribution, and production muscle to bring their games to a wide audience.
Goodboy Galaxy blends retro nostalgia with refined modern indie game design to create the perfect adventure amongst the stars. Now, with the support of Reef's publishing infrastructure and Bitmap Bureau’s retro expertise, a launch plan can be confirmed.
Release Timeline
Kickstarter backers:
June 2026: Nintendo Switch™ eShop codes will be emailed to backers.
Starting July 2026: Kickstarter rewards – including physical GBA cartridges and Switch physical editions – will be shipped to backers via the Bitmap Bureau Online Shop. Backers will be contacted via email in the coming months with instructions of how to claim their rewards from the Bitmap Bureau Online Shop. Additional shipping charges may apply.
General Release:
From today: The Nintendo Switch™ version of Goodboy Galaxy is available to pre-order for UK and EU customers via the Bitmap Bureau Online Shop and selected retailers*. The Standard Edition sold on the Bitmap Bureau Online Shop includes an exclusive arcade token!
From today: A downloadable digital GBA ROM is available to purchase on the Bitmap Bureau Online Shop for use with flash cartridges or emulation.
30th October 2026: The Nintendo Switch™ version of Goodboy Galaxy will launch worldwide digitally on the Nintendo eShop** and physically across the UK and EU via the Bitmap Bureau Online Shop and selected retailers.
Date TBC: Once all Kickstarter backers’ orders have been fulfilled, Goodboy Galaxy physical GBA cartridges will be available to purchase via the Bitmap Bureau Online Shop.
*Note: A physical US release for the Nintendo Switch™ version of Goodboy Galaxy is yet to be confirmed, but US fans will be able to purchase the game for Nintendo Switch™ digitally via the Nintendo eShop.
**Note: Goodboy Galaxy will be launching on the Asian eShop pages (Japan, Korea, Hong Kong/Taiwan) on the 5th of November.
